Our clients today rarely need to prove anything through their interior. So they’ve stopped asking their homes to look expensive. What they want instead: to close the door after a day in a loud, fast-paced city that’s always under construction — and finally let go. That’s the new definition of luxury interior design we’re seeing in our work: not what guests see, but how the owner feels once the door is closed. Here’s the catch: "feeling at home" isn’t a style. After years of designing for people who moved to Dubai from dozens of different countries, we’ve noticed something: "feeling at home" almost always comes down to one of four things. Figuring out which one matters to you is where a project actually begins.

1. The absence of cold
For some clients, home is defined by what’s missing. Mirrored stone. Sharp reflections. Surfaces that bounce light until a room feels like a showroom instead of somewhere to live. Our job isn’t to add warmth here — it’s to remove the cold: matte instead of gloss, softer transitions between materials, nothing that reads like a museum.
2. Warm wood, warm stone
Others describe home through touch. Wood that’s warm under your hand. Stone in warm tones rather than grey-blue. This is the most physical version of the request — people want to touch their home, not just look at it. What matters isn’t the wood species on its own, but how it sits next to the stone. That pairing sets the temperature of a room.
3. The temperature of light
For many, home has nothing to do with objects. It’s about light. The same room can feel like a hotel or feel like yours — and the difference usually comes down to color temperature and whether it changes through the day. It’s one of the most underrated tools we have.
4. One object, carrying a memory
For some, home isn’t a material or a light setting — it’s a single object. A painting that made it halfway around the world. A spot for a pet. Something that belonged to someone they loved. Objects like this rarely fit into a room on their own. They need a place planned in from the start, not squeezed in later.

Light
Color temperature is measured in kelvins. The difference between 4000K (cold, office-like) and 2700K (warm, evening) is felt almost instantly in the body — even when the eye can’t say why. We design separate lighting for morning, evening, and night, with dimming built in. Never one setting for every moment.
Materials
Warmth in wood or stone isn’t just about the species — it’s the finish. Matte oil instead of glossy lacquer. Sanding that keeps the texture instead of erasing it. The same piece of oak can feel cold or warm, depending entirely on how it’s treated.
Acoustics
High ceilings and lots of glass — common in Dubai — bounce sound around until a room feels hollow. Almost hotel-like. We work with textiles, soft surfaces, and zoning to keep a space quiet, even a large one.
